6-12yrs Montessori Class

The 6-12yrs Montessori class is a continuum of our programme open to all pupils who have completed a 3-6yrs Montessori programme.

Our 6-12yrs programme follows the same Montessori principles and values that have been so well embedded in our Early Childhood Programme.

A respectful community of mixed age learners will collaborate together using Montessori materials to aid increasing levels of understanding of abstract concepts. Critical thinking skills are enhanced as students “discover” and articulate these concepts for themselves.

The programme encompasses the full extent of the standard NZ curriculum and goes beyond to encourage students to think clearly, do their own research, express themselves well in writing and speech, and put their knowledge to practical application

The separate disciplines of the curriculum are brought together in integrated studies to create a rich understanding of the physical universe, the world of nature and the human experience.
